As a native Nevadan with a passion for medicine, Anjali Daulat knew that 91制片厂 was the perfect place for her.

Daulat comes from a family of physicians. Both her father and uncle have practiced medicine in Southern Nevada for more than 30 years, and while she was always familiar with medicine, she realized her passion for it as a freshman in high school.

鈥淚n high school, I shadowed different doctors in town to see how they cared for their patients on a daily basis,鈥 she recalled. 鈥淚t helped me realize that I wanted to pursue medicine.鈥

After graduating from The Meadows School in Clark County, Daulat attended Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas where she graduated with a double major in Biology and Health and Society.

Her father grew up in Dallas, so attending SMU gave her the opportunity to get an education and a better understanding about where he was from.

鈥淕oing to Dallas was a great experience for me, but I wanted to move back because Nevada is such an underserved community,鈥 she said. 鈥淣evada is home, and I was so glad to come back.鈥

As a new student in Touro’s Medical Health Sciences (MHS) program, Daulat is getting accustomed to the extensive workload of graduate school. She鈥檚 already made plenty of friends, and the faculty are always there to lend a hand.

鈥淏eing in a small cohort, we have a lot of group and faculty interactions, which I love,鈥 Daulat said. 鈥淪cience was always my strongest subject growing up, so it鈥檚 great being in class with so many people who have the same passion that I do.鈥

While she鈥檚 only beginning her studies at Touro, Daulat would eventually like to attend the College of Osteopathic Medicine with the goal of staying in Southern Nevada after graduation.

鈥淚 love living here,鈥 she said. 鈥淚鈥檝e always been open to living elsewhere, but I鈥檇 love to stay here, practice here, and raise a family here. There are so many opportunities in Southern Nevada, and I want to make our community better.鈥

Daulat is ready for the challenges of the MHS program. She feels comfortable at Touro, a feeling that stems from the love she鈥檚 always had for the place she鈥檚 called home her entire life.

鈥淭ouro is very well-established, and plenty of people who go to Touro stay here,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 love that.鈥
